Promoted: The people behind Admiral's performance - Michael
Since starting at Admiral as a Customer Service CCR 9 years ago, Michael has had quite a varied career but has ended up specialising in a technical area of the business, Claims Risk.
Having spent time in Central Quality gaining experience of customer complaints and resolving them, Michael moved over to Claims as a Liability Investigator.
‘’I wanted to get into a more technical area so Claims seemed like the perfect place and I liked the idea of having time to fully look in to issues. I worked my way up in this role and had a promotion to a team senior, managing a small team of claims investigators.
‘’After four years another opportunity to develop my career came up and I secure the role of Risk and Compliance Manager within the Claims department. In this role, I ensure that claims risks are identified and are dealt with appropriately.
‘’I really enjoy my role as it enables me to get out in the department and communicate with staff at all levels and have different interactions with them regarding various issues and how best to deal with them.’’
We asked Michael for any advice he would give to someone looking to progress within Claims.
‘’My advice would be to just have a go – I came in with no claims knowledge and have worked my up into this specialised role – if the attitude and work ethic is there then the technical areas of the role can be taught.’’
