This week we spent some time with two Team Managers from New Business in Swansea to find out how the latest recruits were getting on...

New Business is the first port of call for our new customers. After visiting our website, customers call our contact centre to find out more. The call handler’s role is to turn query calls into sales!  Our employees have a variety of products and options available to offer our customers to ensure we meet their needs. Using MultiCar and MultiCover, Inbound Sales staff are able to offer a service for the whole household.

Lisa’s team have now been taking calls for 2 months. “New Business is a melting pot of characters and personalities. No two sales people are alike!”

Team Manager Lisa has a variety of people on her team with varying levels of experience. “One of the benefits of the department is that you don’t  need previous contact centre or sales experience . As long as you have a desire to work hard and put the customer first, we can teach you the rest.”  

Steve, another Team Manager in Sales recruited his new starters in July. “It’s been an exciting 6 weeks, we have been fortunate that the group have all worked incredibly hard individually and as a team, supporting each other through these early days.

‘’The role doesn’t have targets, the more you sell the more you can earn. We can already see the training and determination of the group paying off.

 ‘’New Business has a wonderful family feel. The staff all work together for the best of the department. The role can be hard; we reward and recognise our staff for the effort they put in. Each month the department celebrates success with an awards ceremony. Awards  are on offer for the Team of the Month, Call Handler and Senior of the Month as well as rewarding excellent quality service too. The department has competitions where individuals and teams win prizes. In addition to Admiral’s wide range of benefits, New Business Swansea has its own ‘Funsultants’ who are responsible for your well being, motivation and fun! These guys arrange department nights out, competitions and events throughout the month to keep you entertained and motivated.’’

Lisa and Steve both understand the transition to the contact centre can be hard, the probationary period is 6 months, during this time, we look at how well you are progressing and managers like Steve and Lisa are here to support you.
