Did you know there’s more than just career opportunities on offer for our Claims Handlers?

The Admiral Claims department is one of the largest departments in the company, with 1,995 skilled staff trained to support our customers all the way through the claims process from start to finish.

Claudette and Sean both work within our FNOL team. This is known as the First Notification of Loss, these are the first people our customers speak to if they have been involved in an accident. They are there to take down as much detail as possible and support the customer in ensuring their initial safety, getting their car back on the road and making the initial assessment on liability to ensure the case is dealt with in the correct way going forward.

Sean told us about his time in Admiral so far ‘I joined Admiral in 2012, I have worked in New Business Sales, Household and now Claims. I’ve been lucky enough to gain so much experience from working all around the business. In Claims, every call is different and I love the variety. You take around 10-20 calls per day, it’s very hands on and I really feel like I am making a difference to the people I help.

‘’It’s nice that you don’t have to wear a uniform, you just wear what you feel comfortable in. I enjoy my role here because for me, it’s a gateway to further my career in Claims. In the future I could progress to work in Telematics, specialist liability teams and much more. I love my job at the moment, I always earn a great incentive and we have some fantastic team days out. This years’ summer BBQ for the entire Claims department is something we are all looking forward to.’’

Claudette has gained a wealth of experience working in Claims since joining in 2011. ‘’It’s a very reputable company to work for; I love the culture... and the shares! Without my Admiral shares I wouldn’t own my house, I cashed them in to put towards my deposit.

‘’Everyone sits together, I can speak to anyone, there are no separate offices for the managers. My favourite thing at the moment is Wish Wednesdays. Every week you make a wish to your manager, one is picked at random and granted. I have won twice! One week I won a £10 River Island voucher and last week I won my £10 Primark voucher.’’

 Sean’s not been quite as lucky just yet, he’s not after a River Island voucher, just a little bit of flexitime for an early finish. Best of Luck for next week Sean!
