Are you thinking of looking for a new job? It can be a long process but here are our 7 tops tips to set you on your way to finding a new job for the new year.
Take the first step - Make a list of career options you think you would actually enjoy! Think about what type of place you would like to work. Don’t limit your thinking and be honest with yourself.
Reflect - Look at the past year and think about what worked well and what didn’t. Learn from your mistakes, improve and move forward.
Do your research! Research the job and the company. What does the role actually involve doing? What type of culture and working environment does that company have?
Clean up your CV - Look at other CV’s for inspiration but make sure you tailor your CV to the career you want and the job your're applying for. Make sure it is clear intriguing and no longer than 2 pages.
Get a sensible email address - Most employers now take online applications, that means they do read your email address. This is your first impression! No matter how funny it was at the time it may not make a good first impression to an employer.
Beat the competition! Start applying in November/December and beat the rush of applications that are received in January
