This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-profile role, working closely with Business Leaders of various levels. The role reports to Christophe Sanchez, Head of Internal Consultancy.

Generally, internal consultants will spend 2-2.5 years in the role before springboarding back into the business.

Principal Consultants play a vital role in:

  • Supporting senior stakeholders on strategic challenges across a very wide range of domains
  • Supporting effective project management in complex change and transformation
  • Contributing to the development of the internal consulting function

The role is suitable for individuals that enjoy working on a very wide array of difficult tasks and want to develop a broad and deep understanding of our business. Previous experience of delivering strategic transformation and innovation projects across multiple business areas will be essential for the role.  

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage end to end complex engagements across all areas of the business and across the whole spectrum of business challenges. The range of these is broad and includes: strategic analysis, complex organisational change, M&A due diligence and integration, new product launch, operational efficiency, business transformation and regulatory change.
  • Manage small and large project teams, which may be composed of internal consultants, members from diverse areas of the business and/or external third parties, and may span across a wide range of disciplines.
  • Actively engage with senior management, build trusted relationships, and identify opportunities for business improvement and for internal consulting engagement.
  • Research, develop and provide thought out suggestions and new perspectives relevant to the difficulties faced by the business
  • Prepare and deliver key reports, recommendations, and presentations across all levels of the organisation, including senior management and board level.
  • Work hand in hand with the head of internal consulting to develop the capabilities of the team including: mentoring, methodology and knowledge assets building, skills development, recruitment, and improvement of internal consulting metrics.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience working within a strategic consultancy role (or similar), or in designing and delivering strategic projects across various areas of the business
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative and structured solutions
  • Proven leadership and experience managing projects with multifunctional teams
  • Exceptional interpersonal, team building and communication skills (including presentation skills) to wide range of audiences
  • Experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with senior management teams
  • Experience in analysing business and financial impacts of proposed initiatives and recommending the appropriate action
  • A high degree of personal initiative, and self-organisation
  • Good time management and ability to manage high workloads
  • Expertise in several business domains relevant to Admiral business
  • A good grasp of technology, Data and Digital.
  • Attention to detail, structured thinking, combined with high levels of creativity and out of the box thinking
  • Learning agility combined with the ability to unveil new solutions and to look beyond Admiral for best practice
  • Ability to adopt a “coaching” style with team members being fully supported during projects
  • The consulting mindset (curiosity, adaptability, tenacity, creativity, effective communication, time management, observation and investigation problem solving).
  • The desire to develop a leadership mindset (visionary, self-awareness, influencing, strategic thinking, decision making, networking).    

Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance

We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
